Internet Festival is indeed one of the two use cases of Me-Mind, where experimenting and putting into practice the designed approaches to the data lifecylcle: data collection, data analysis and data visualization!
FROM DATA COLLECTION…
After months of study about how to collect data from a wide public for a cultural event, guided by Estonian National Museum with the technical support of University of Pisa and Fondazione Sistema Toscana (organiser of the festival), we are ready to start. To do this, our partner Domestic Data Streamers (in collaboration with TAKK – architecture studio based in Barcelona) has designed an installation to let people tell – with different methods – their experience of “culture”. During the four days of Internet Festival the installation will be at Logge dei Banchi, one of the central locations, and will be animated by a multi-language staff (Italian, English and Spanish).
This will be only a part of more complex data collection system that also includes a survey dedicated to know better the public of Internet Festival and to investigate specific themes. The survey is available in 🇮🇹 Italian and in 🇬🇧 English, the results will be analysed by University of Pisa.
… TO DATA VISUALIZATION
Moreover, Me-Mind project will organise a practical workshop on Data Visualization. The workshop, in English, is specifically designed for cultural organisations and professionals. On Friday 8th October, from 3 to 6 PM, Domestic Data Streamers will conduct this seminar where participants will learn how to transform data into stories by using the arts and technology. The workshop is a way to communicate the importance of working creatively with data, to make visible the invisible and to Make Culture Count!
